Football Knock 'em Down

Football Knock 'em Down

[30 Minutes]

Both you and your child will enjoy this different game of bowling. The object of this game is to knock down as many bowling pins as you can by using a foam football. Playing this game provides experiences for developing accuracy in passing a football.

You'll need:

• foam footballs • 10-14 plastic bowling pins or liter size plastic bottles • cones or markers if you play outside • tape

What to do:

  1. If possible, print out these directions. Read them through together before you begin. Together, set up the cones in straight line.
  2. The bowling pins or soda bottles should be several feet apart.
  3. Decide on a starting line 10 feet away from the bowling pins.
  4. Explain to your child that the object of the game is to knock all of the bowling pins with as few passes as possible.

How to play:

  1. Your child will go first. After she passes the football, return it to her.
  2. Keep count of how many passes it takes to knock over the bowling pins.
  3. After she has knocked down all of the pins, it is your turn.
  4. The person with the lowest score wins!

Useful information:

I loved this game of bowling. My uncle played with me. I won, but most important I had fun with him. (Sara, age 11)
