Shopping List
[20 Minutes]
Have fun with your child creating a grocery list with things starting with the letter A and going through the alphabet to Z. Try this noncompetitive game when you are traveling or waiting for an appointment.
How to play:
- Begin the game by saying, "I am going to the grocery store and I need apples."
- Then ask your child to add to the list something bought at the store that starts with the letter B (like broccoli or a brush).
- Continue going back and forth with replies going through each letter of the alphabet till you reach Z. If your child get stumped (or even yourself) help each other out.
- Play until you get tired.
Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.
- Did you find any hard letters of the alphabet where you couldn't think of a word? Which were they?
- Could you play this same game making a different kind of list? Tell me about it.
