Humming Cups

[20 Minutes]

Grab some paper cups and make these homemade instruments that will have you and your child singing and dancing.

You'll need:

• 2 small paper cups • scissors • 1 piece waxed paper • 2 rubber bands

What to do:

1. As your child watches, cut the bottoms out of the cups.
2. Let him cover the tops of the cups with waxed paper.
3. Help him secure the paper with the rubber bands.
4. Show him how to touch his lips to the paper and hum a tune. Together observe how the paper vibrates, causing a humming sound.
5. Sing a song while you and your child play the instruments, or turn on the radio and play along with the music.
