Kitchen Gadget Guessing Game
[15 Minutes]
Dinner's cooking. Play this guessing game while you wait.
You'll need:
assorted kitchen utensils and gadgets, such as funnels, tongs, masher, or ladle
paper bag
What to do:
- Together, gather a number of kitchen gadgets safe enough for your child to handle.
- Look at and talk about each one. Show your child how they are used, if possible.
- Line up 5 or 6 items in a row.
- Ask your child to close her eyes as you remove one item.
- Challenge her to guess which one is missing.
- For a variation, place one item in a paper bag. Encourage your child to feel inside and try to guess what it is.
- Let your child place an object in the bag for you to guess.
- The next time you are in the supermarket, look for the display of kitchen utensils and gadgets together and see how many you have at home.
