Kitchen Gadget Painting

[15 Minutes]

Making prints with kitchen materials is sure to bring out your child's creativity!

You'll need:

• assortment of kitchen gadgets (cookie cutters, bottle brush, potato masher, wire whisks, rubber spatula, melon scooper, etc.) • paint (red, yellow, blue) • 3 shallow containers • white paper

What to do:

  1. Pour a small amount of paint into each shallow container.
  2. Help your child dip a gadget into the paint and then to make a print on the paper.
  3. Challenge him to cover the paper with many paint designs.
  4. Examine the colors together. What happens when two colors mix?
  5. Once the paint is dry, see if you and your child can name the kitchen tools that were used to make each design.
