My Spring Bonnet

[15 Minutes]

Celebrate the coming of spring with a fashionable bonnet you and your child can make together!

You'll need:

• paper bowl • hole punch • ribbon • fat crayons • assorted holiday or spring stickers • camera (optional)

What to do:

  1. Invite your child to color or place spring stickers onto both sides of a paper bowl.
  2. Punch a hole on each side and thread these with ribbons to use as ties.
  3. Place the bowl on your child's head and tie the ribbons under her neck.
  4. Plan a family parade around the house and have your child model her new spring bonnet. Take pictures of this memorable moment.

How to use:

  1. Encourage your child to wear her bonnet and dramatize this fingerplay with you.
  2. A colorful bonnet upon my head (Point to your head.)
    Baby animals at the zoo,
Flowers bloom and robins coo. (Pretend to be a bird; form wings with your arms.)
