Three in a Bed

Three in a Bed

[15 Minutes]

You and your child can sing, count and most important, have a great time together.

What to do:

  1. Invite your child to sing three verses of this song with you. (Tune: "Ten in a Bed"):
There were three in a bed,
    And the little one said,
    "Roll over, roll over."
    So they all rolled over
    And one fell out.
  2. The second verse has two in the bed and the third verse has one child in the bed. The last verse ends with “and the little one said, “Good night, sleep tight!”
  3. Using only three verses makes this song manageable for your child. Children like this song because it is repetitive.
  4. Encourage your child to role-play this song using three dolls or three stuffed animals.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • Do you like playing in bed? Have you ever fallen out?
  • Let’s roll over and over on the floor so we don’t get hurt.

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, your child is developing language skills.
