Snowballs and Math

[30 Minutes]

Snow! Take your child outside to play, but make it into a math lesson at the same time

You'll need:

• Different sized snowballs or ice cubes

What to do:

1. Bring your child outside and invite him to form different-sized snowballs or make ice cubes of varying sizes inside.
2. Have your child experiment with placing the snowballs or ice cubes in a row so that they are placed from smallest to largest or vice versa.
3. Use the words "small" "smaller" "smallest" "large" "larger" "largest" "big" "bigger" "biggest". These are math terms that can be hard to learn. This game is a good introduction for your child.
