A Father's Day Card for my Dad
[30 Minutes]
Make a card that invites Dad on a bird feeding walk. It's sure to make Father's Day special!
You'll need:
tissue paper or plastic baggie bird seed white glue scissors construction paper yarn
What to do:
- On colored construction paper, trace both of your child's hands so that they overlap to form a bird. Thumbs together form the bird's head and the fingers on both hands are the wings.
- Help him cut out the traced hands and glue them onto a piece of folded white paper.
- Look at the birdseed with your child. Find different colors, sizes, and shapes.
- Take a circle of tissue paper or baggie and invite your child to fill it with birdseed
- Tie it with yarn like a sack.
- Encourage your child to glue the seed bag as if the bird were carrying it.
- Together, write down what he would like to say. Invite your child to "sign' his name.
How to use:
Encourage your child to present his card to Dad on Father's Day and to invite him to go on a bird feeding walk.
