Sun, Sun, Sun

Sun, Sun, Sun

[15 Minutes]

Pay attention to how you feel when you are sitting in the sun.

What to do:

  1. Sit with your child in a sunny window or outdoors in the grass on a sunny day and observe how you feel.
  2. Sing the following song with your child. (Tune: "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star"):
Shine on, shine on, big round sun.
Children play and laugh and run.
When nighttime comes, your job is done,
Tomorrow, then we'll have more fun,
Shine on, shine on, big round sun,
Children play and laugh and run.
  3. Encourage your child to sing the song with you.
  4. Sing again and ask her to create motions to go with the words.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • How does the sun feel on your skin?
  • Which do you like better, sunny days or rainy days?
  • Do you like acting out songs as you sing them?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, this activity helps your child develop observational skills and language skills.
