Summertime Play Dough Centerpiece

Summertime Play Dough Centerpiece

[15 Minutes]

Making this play dough centerpiece is a fun way for your child to develop creativity.

You'll need:

• small paper plate • play dough • wildflowers • pebbles • twigs • grasses • leaves • pipe cleaners in pastel colors

What to do:

  1. Take a walk with your child and collect small natural items.
  2. When you get home, invite your child to place a large ball of play dough on the paper plate.
  3. Encourage her to stick the flowers, twigs, grasses, leaves, and pebbles into the play dough.
  4. After letting the centerpiece dry overnight, let your child display her beautiful work of art on the dining room table.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • What does the play dough feel like when you are squeezing it in your hands?
  • What do the flowers feel like? The pebbles?
  • What else could you use to make a centerpiece?
