Juicy Ice Pops

Juicy Ice Pops

[15 Minutes]

Make juice pops and help your child discover the amazing properties of freezing and melting.

You'll need:

• paper cups • fruit juice (any variety) • craft sticks • heavy duty aluminum foil

What to do:

  1. Help your child pour fruit juice into a paper cup.
  2. Cover each cup with a piece of aluminum foil. Cut a small slit in the center.
  3. Invite her to place a craft stick into each slit. The foil helps keep the stick in place.
  4. Place in freezer overnight.
  5. Tear off the paper cup and serve juicy ice pops as a special treat.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • What flavor juice did we use to make your juicy ice pop? What color is it?
  • How does the juice change in the freezer? What happens when we leave the juice pop out on the table?
  • What other fruit juices would you like to use next time?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, this activity helps your child develop an understanding of cause and effect.
