Surprise Muffins






 

Surprise Muffins

[30 Minutes]

Baking is always fun, and these muffins are full of surprises when you eat them.


You'll need:

• 1 cup whole wheat flour • 1 cup quick-cooking oats • 2 tsp. baking powder • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon • 1/4 cup brown sugar • 1/2 cup oil • 1 egg • 1 cup milk • 1/4 cup jam

What to do:

  1. Preheat the over to 400 degrees F.
  2. Invite your child to mix the dry ingredients except brown sugar in a bowl.
  3. Let her combine the brown sugar, oil, egg, and milk until they are smooth.
  4. Add the brown sugar mixture to the dry ingredients and mix until moistened.
  5. Let your child help you fill 12 greased muffin cups 1/4 full.
  6. Invite her to spoon 1 tsp. jam over the batter and fill each cup 3/4 full with remaining batter.
  7. Bake 15-10 minutes.
