[30 Minutes]
Your child will enjoy retelling familiar stories with an original puppet character you have made together!
You'll need:
paper lunch bags elastic ring glue or stapler crayons or markers construction paper safety scissors
What to do:
- Invite your child to draw facial features and accessories on the front panel of the lunch bag. It could be a person or an animal.
- Help her to cut out large hands and feet to glue on.
- Place an elastic ring on the back so it can be slipped over her hand.
- Encourage her to act out her favorite story or song. Encourage her to play freely with the puppet.
How to use:
- Puppets allow children to act out many different situations and to take on different personalities, to sing silly songs, and/or to pretend.
- Puppets can be helpful in asking a child about her feelings and useful in aiding in chores, bath time, and meal time.
