Tennis Dribble Obstacle Course
[10 Minutes]
This game of dribble will be challenging as well as improve hand-eye coordination and dribbling skills. The object of the game is to dribble the tennis ball with the racquet down as you weave in and out through the obstacle course.
You'll need:
tennis ball tennis racquet 8 cans or soda bottles
What to do:
- If possible, print out these directions. Read them through together before you begin.
- Together, gather everything you’ll need.
- There are two players in this game.
- Your child is player 1 and you are player 2.
- Together with your child, decide on the start and finish line. The course should be at least 25 feet in length.
- Let him place the cans three feet apart. They should be in a straight line.
How to play:
- You are the timekeeper. On your signal, your child begins to dribble the ball using the racquet through the obstacle course.
- When he reaches the finish line, he turns around and returns to the start line.
- You time him until he dribbles across the start line.
- Now it is your turn to dribble the ball through the obstacle course.
Useful information:
Tennis is my favorite sport to watch on TV. Someday I hope to be able to play like the pros. This obstacle course was challenging and it helped me play a better game of tennis. (Sheila, age 12)
