A Musical Match Game

A Musical Match Game

[15 Minutes]

Your child can develop thinking skills while playing this musical game.

You'll need:

• pairs of various musical toys such as bells, drums, whistles, harmonicas

What to do:

  1. Collect two or three pairs of musical instruments, such as a bell, drum, and a whistle.
  2. Tell your child the names of each musical instrument.
  3. Pick one up and play it. Invite your child to choose the same instrument and play it.
  4. Play an instrument so that she can hear it, but not see it. Put down the instrument and ask her to find it and play it for you.
  5. Invite your child to make her own sound. Now it is your turn to match the sound.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • Let's get our instruments and play a game.
  • Which instrument do you like best? Show me what it sounds like?

Useful information:

While you are playing together, your child is developing listening and matching skills.
