Something Red in My Room!

Something Red in My Room!

[10 Minutes]

Need a simple game to play with your child? Go into your child's room and play a simple game of "Something red in my room!"

What to do:

  1. Invite your child into your child's room and ask her to play a new game with you.
  2. Pick up an item that is red. Ask her to tell you the color of the item.
  3. Encourage her to show a toy that is red.
  4. Challenge her to find an article of clothing that is red.
  5. After finding as many red items as she can find, invite her to count the items with you!

How to use:

  1. If you have a box handy, put all of the items that you can in the box!
  2. Feel free to play this game another day with a different color.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • How many red items did we find?
  • Which of these is your favorite?
  • What is your favorite color?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, your child is developing language skills, matching skills and an introduction to colors.
