Me Timeline
[30 Minutes]
Use family photos to create a timeline of your child's life. Not only will those photos be put in order, but you will also share precious family stories.
You'll need:
tape markers, pens, or pencils 1 photo representing each year of your child's life a long piece of paper (fax roll, computer paper)
What to do:
- Look at family photos together and choose 1 photo from each year of your child's life.
- Tape the pictures to the paper in chronological order, leaving lots of room next to each one.
- Talk about the pictures together.
- Let your child write a description of each picture next to it. She can also dictate her comments to you.
- Display the Timeline in your child's room.

- Tell me some ways you have changed since you were little.
- Which is your favorite picture? Why?

While you are having fun together, this activity helps your child develop pre-reading and pre-writing skills and an understanding of time sequence.
