Twirling Snowflakes Movement Game

Twirling Snowflakes Movement Game

[15 Minutes]

As you watch the snow fall, inspire your child to imagine being a snowflake blowing around.

You'll need:

• old pillowcase (OPTIONAL) • music • tinsel

What to do:

  1. Invite your child to pretend that you are both snowflakes.
  2. Say:
"Let's move as though we are snowflakes falling softly through the air."
"What would we look like if the wind suddenly started to blow hard?"
"How would we move if we were piling up on the ground?"
  3. If your child likes wearing costumes, cut head and arm holes in an old pillowcase to make a snowflake costume.
  4. Let her help you glue on old tinsel to complete the costume.
  5. Play music as you move around.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • Tell me how a snowflake moves.
  • Do you like to move to music?
  • Do you like fast music or slow music better?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, your child is developing large muscle skills and imagination.
