Making Matzoh Song

Making Matzoh Song

[15 Minutes]

Introduce your child to matzoh during Passover as you sing this fun song together!

You'll need:

• matzoh

What to do:

  1. During Passover an unleavened bread called "matzoh" is eaten.
  2. Invite your child to sing this song with you to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat." Use hand motions where appropriate.
  3. Pat, pat, pat the dough,
    Make it flat and round.
Poke lots and lots and lots of holes,
And bake it till it's brown.
  4. Enjoy a snack of matzoh after you sing.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • Can you show me how to pat the dough?
  • Let's use our fingers and pretend to poke holes in the matzoh.
  • Would you like to spread jam on your matzoh?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, your child is developing language skills and small muscle skills.
