Spring Color Basket

Spring Color Basket

[15 Minutes]

Baskets are often associated with spring. Use one to play a "search and find" game with your child!

You'll need:

• basket • ribbons (yellow, pink, lavender, green, white)

What to do:

  1. This game can be played over a period of several days.
  2. On the first day, tie a yellow ribbon in a bow on the basket handle. Invite your child to carry the basket and search for objects that match the color.
  3. She will enjoy putting things into the basket and carrying them around.
  4. When finished, pull out each item and name it together.
  5. Continue playing this game each day using a different colored ribbon.
  6. Enjoy this finger play together about spring baskets.
I made a little basket (form a circle with your hands)
And left it at your door. (point to friend)
It means I hope you have a happy day
And many, many, more! (open and close your hands)

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • Can you name some spring colors with me? Which is your favorite?
  • How many objects did you place in the basket today? Let's count them.

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, this activity helps your child develop language skills, matching skills, and an understanding of colors.
