Egg Carton Faces

Egg Carton Faces

[25 Minutes]

Creating with throwaways and nature finds will make your child feel proud of "recycling"!

You'll need:

• egg cartons • glue • miscellaneous art materials and nature finds • child safety scissors

What to do:

  1. Show your child how to cut egg cartons into individual cups, and invite him to create funny faces on the surface of the egg carton segments.
  2. Encourage him to create faces using foam pieces, acorns, leaves, and other decorations that can be glued on.
  3. Invite him to use his face puppet, putting it on his finger, while singing songs or reciting familiar rhymes.

How to use:

  1. Search the house and collect recycle materials to save in an "art box."
  2. Bring out the art box periodically for fun art projects such as collages, puppet-making, masks, sculptures, and so on. Your "junk" can extend your child's imagination through art.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • What is your puppet's name?
  • Which materials did you glue onto the egg cup?
  • Can you think of another way to decorate these faces?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, your child is developing creativity and small muscle skills.
