Apple Color Walk
[20 Minutes]
Let the colors of an apple be your guide as you take a walk with your child.
You'll need:
one apple each
What to do:
- Offer your child an apple to carry with him as you walk together. (Be certain to bring an apple along yourself.)
- Tell him the name of the apple variety. Talk about how the apple looks and feels. Pay particular attention to the apple's color.
- As you walk along, invite your child to point out things he notices that match his apple’s skin color.
- As he munches his apple, challenge him to find other things that match the color of the inside of his apple.
- On another day, take a different colored apple on your walk.
Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.
- Is there anything in your room that is the same color as the apple?
- What color do you like best?
