Sticky Tree

Sticky Tree

[20 Minutes]

Enjoy a fall walk together and then create this wall hanging for the whole family to enjoy.

You'll need:

• brown paper • clear contact paper • paper bag • leaves • twigs • tape • scissors (ADULT USE ONLY)

What to do:

  1. Take a walk and collect some leaves and twigs in the paper bag.
  2. Cut out a simple tree trunk shape from brown paper.
  3. Help her put the paper trunk on the sticky side of the contact paper.
  4. Invite her to put small leaves and twigs on the tree picture.
  5. Tape the wall hanging in a window where the sun will shine through.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • Does your tree picture look like the trees we saw on our walk? Let's talk about it.
  • Discuss the leaves. Which is biggest? smallest? What colors are the leaves?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, your child is developing small muscle skills, language skills, and observational skills.
