My Halloween Treat Bag
[20 Minutes]
Delight your child with a special Halloween treat bag you make together!
You'll need:
paper grocery bag
crayons or markers
stapler (ADULT USE ONLY)
12-by-2 inch piece of cardboard
masking tape
reflective tape (optional)
What to do:
- Together with your child draw jack-o-lanterns, black cats, witches, and other Halloween figures on the paper bag. Encourage her to help decorate it in her own way.
- If the bag doesn't have handles, cut them out as shown in the picture.
- Use a 12-by-2 inch piece of cardboard to secure the handle. Staple the handle to opposite sides of the paper handles. Cover the staples with tape.
- If your child is going to take the bag trick-or-treating, help her stick on pieces of reflective tape.
- As you create this bag together, sing a holiday song. (Tune: "The Farmer in the Dell"):
It's Halloween tonight, It's Halloween tonight, Let's take our bags and "trick-or-treat," It's Halloween tonight.
