Spooky Chocolate Spiders

Spooky Chocolate Spiders

[15 Minutes]

Delight your child with this easy and fun to make treat, just in time for Halloween.

You'll need:

• 12-ounce package chocolate chips • dry chow mein noodles (medium-sized can) • M & M's candy • waxed paper • microwave • glass or plastic bowl • spoon

What to do:

  1. Place the chocolate chips into a medium size bowl and melt in the microwave.
  2. Invite your child to stir in the noodles, saving some extra noodles to use as spider legs after the bodies are made.
  3. Let cool slightly. Drop by spoonfuls onto the waxed paper.
  4. Your child can now add eight legs to the main body.
  5. Together make spider faces with colorful M & M candies.
  6. Store these Halloween treats in the refrigerator until ready to serve.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • Which part of these spiders do you like best? The chocolate? The noodles? The candy?
  • Have you seen a real spider? Did it look like the ones we just made? Tell me about it.
