Muffin Cup Flower Card For Mother's Day

Muffin Cup Flower Card For Mother's Day

[20 Minutes]

Mothers love flowers! See how your child can transform a paper cupcake liner into a special card for a special lady.

You'll need:

• paper muffin cups • construction paper • glue • crayons or markers • cologne

What to do:

  1. Talk with your child about flowers. Look outside, in a book or magazine, or visit your neighborhood florist.
  2. Provide paper muffin cups for your child and encourage her to think about what part of a flower it resembles.
  3. Help your child fold a piece of construction paper in half like a card.
  4. Invite her to glue the muffin liner onto the paper.
  5. Encourage her to add a stem, leaves, grass, and so on with crayons or markers.
  6. Add a dab of cologne to make the flower smell sweet. Let your child choose the scent, if you have more than one type of cologne.
  7. Help your child write a Mother's Day message inside her special card.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • How do flowers smell?
  • How could you make your flower smell good just like a real flower?
  • Do you think your mother will like this card? Why is she special to you?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, your child is developing creativity and writing skills.
