Magic Circle

Magic Circle

[20 Minutes]

Together with your child discover the "magic" held in a small circle placed on the ground outdoors.

You'll need:

• a 6'- 8' piece of rope tied to make a circle or use a hula hoop

What to do:

  1. Take your child outside. Let him choose a spot on the ground where he would like to place his magic circle.
  2. Help him place the rope on the ground.
  3. Ask him to look in the circle and discover how many things he can find. Together talk about what you see. You may have to help him really "see" as he may not be used to looking closely and discovering details.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • What do you think you will find in your magic circle?
  • What types of things did you find in your magic circle?
  • Is there anything living in your magic circle?

Useful information:

While you are having fun together, this activity helps your child develop observation skills and language skills.
