Color Touch Game




 

Color Touch Game

[20 Minutes]

Is your child bursting with energy? Turn that boundless energy into a fun color game for two.


You'll need:

• area such as room, yard or when shopping at the supermarket

What to do:

  1. Note the different colors in a room, your yard or things in a store. Encourage your child to look around to see the different colors and where they are.
  2. Show your child some other colors he may have missed in these areas.
  3. When you say "Touch everything blue" he hurries to touch everything blue within his reach.
  4. Together count how many blue items he finds.
  5. Add other colors or, if you are at home, items such as books, magazines, pencils, shoes, etc.
  6. Count how many blue, red, yellow, etc. items he touched.
  7. Reverse roles.

How to use:

During quiet time, enhance this game by reading the story, "Little Blue and Little Yellow" by Leo Lionni.

  • How many blue things did you touch? red? brown?
  • What is your favorite color? Why?
  • What do you own that is that color?
