Spring Art Blossoms

Observe the blossoming of spring trees in your neighborhood and help your child create this wonderful season on paper.
You'll need:
paper brown construction paper or paper bags tempera paint--yellow and pink cotton balls glue child safety scissors
What to do:
- When you are out on a walk together, look for a flowering cherry, apple, or orange tree and show your child the blossoms.
- Encourage her to cut or tear brown construction paper into strips for tree trunks and branches.
- Help your child glue these onto a sheet of light colored construction paper.
- Invite your child to dip the cotton balls into tempera paint to make blossoms on the trees.
- Return to the tree later in the summer and discuss the changes.
