Beetle Bug
[30 Minutes]
Here’s a fun drawing game to play together. The object of this game is to be the first player to complete the drawing of a beetle bug after throwing the correct sequence of numbers on a dice.
You'll need:
one die paper pencil or marker
How to play:
- Sit together with your child at a table. Each of you has a piece of paper and a pencil or marker.
- Decide who will go first by rolling the die. The highest roller begins the game.
- To play this game, the numbers rolled must be in order from 1-6.
- The first player rolls the die trying to throw a 1. Each player gets one roll per turn.
- When a player gets a 1, she begins to draw a beetle bug on her paper. She starts with an oval for the body.
- Then players try to roll a 2, and then 3 and so on till you reach 6.
A 2 is needed to draw the head. A 3 is needed to draw three legs on one side of the bug’s body. A 4 is needed to draw the other three legs. A 5 is needed to draw the feelers. A 6 is needed to draw the eyes.
- The player who completes her beetle bug first is the winner.
