Soccer Crabbing at the Beach

Soccer Crabbing at the Beach

[15 Minutes]

This fun game of soccer crab can be played indoors, outdoors, or at the beach where you can find real crabs. This game will help improve your child's kicking skills as well as his overall conditioning. Laugh and enjoy this game of soccer crab together!

You'll need:

• beach ball or soccer ball

What to do:

  1. If possible, print out these directions. Read them through with your child before you begin.
  2. With your child, gather everything you’ll need.
  3. Together, draw a starting line and a finish line in the sand or you can use imaginary lines.
  4. Help your child get in the crab position, lying on his back and then raising arms and legs.
  5. Remind him that he can only kick the ball with his feet and cannot hit the soccer ball with his hands.

How to play:

  1. Explain to your child that you will time him to see how long it takes him to score by kicking the ball over the finish line.
  2. Once he has successfully scored, let him try it two more times to see if he can improve his time.
  3. After he has successfully scored several times in the crab position, it is your turn.
