Cover Up!
[30 Minutes]
Here’s a fun game, where the object is to get the lowest score in order to win!
You'll need:
4 pieces of blank, white computer paper tape 2 pencils 2 black (or bold color of your choice) markers 2 quarters 24 pennies or small markers 1 pad of paper for scoring
What to do:
- If possible, print out these directions. Read them through with your child before you begin.
- With your child, gather everything you’ll need.
- Help your child, tape two pieces of paper together, at the shortest ends, in order to create one long piece of paper for each player.
- Together, using a pencil and a quarter, trace twelve circles, equidistant, across the length of the paper.
- With your child, trace the circles with a marker and number them in the center starting with 1 and ending with 12.
How to play:
- Player 1 is allowed to use a penny to cover up to three numbers on his paper, one for each number represented on each die and one for the sum. For example, if a three and a five were rolled, the 3 circle, 5 circle, and the 8 circle (the sum of 3+5) could be covered.
- Player 2 takes a turn and covers up to three numbered circles on his paper.
- As play continues, fewer circles will be covered each round, as some circles will be previously covered.
- When a player covers all numbered circles, he is declared winner of this round.
- The other player adds up the totals from the uncovered circles on his paper.
- Continue playing rounds, as time allows.
- Player with the lowest score is the winner.
