Strawberry Smoothie

In the Cherokee language, "a-ni" means strawberry. Because of the rich land in the Cherokee nation, strawberries grew in abundance. According to folklore, strawberries are a symbol of good luck and remind us not to argue. Use fresh or frozen strawberries to make this refreshing fruit drink.
You'll need:
fresh strawberries (or use frozen) about 1 cup 1 ripe banana, peeled and sliced (ADULT ONLY) 1/2 cup orange juice 2 Tbsp. honey 1 cup ice cubes blender
What to do:
- If possible, print out these directions. Read them through with your child before you begin.
- With your child, gather everything you'll need.
- Let your child measure the ingredients.
- Help her put the ice cubes and the orange juice in a blender and blend. Add the banana slices.
- Add the strawberries and honey.
- Let her blend until smooth. Pour into 2 cups and serve cold.
- Together, think of other fruit and juice combinations for variety.
