Listen to my Heartbeat
[15 Minutes]
Take time with your child to listen to the most important hearts of all--each other's!
What to do:
- Talk with your child about where his heart is and that the heart is a very important part of our body.
- Invite him to place his ear on your chest and listen to your heart beat. Ask your child to describe the sounds he hears.
- Reverse roles; listen to his heart.
- Run quickly and then listen to each other's hearts again. Do they sound different? Are they beating faster or slower?
- Now give each other a hug!
Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.
- Where is your heart? Point to it on your body.
- Can you hear any other sounds in my body? Listen to my tummy. Let me listen to yours.
