Humpty Dumpty Puzzle

Reciting nursery rhymes is an age-old tradition that builds early language skills. Get your child interested by making this Humpty Dumpty that can be put together again and again.
You'll need:
cardboard markers crayons scissors envelope
What to do:
- Cut a large (8" x 12") oval from cardboard.
- Talk with your child about the shape. Does it remind her of anything? Show her an egg.
- Teach your child the nursery rhyme, Humpty Dumpty:
Humpty Dumpty sat on a wall Humpty Dumpty had a great fall. All the king's horses and all the king's men Couldn't put Humpty together again.
- Invite your child to use markers to make the oval into Humpty Dumpty.
- Use scissors to cut the egg into 6 to 8 jigsaw pieces.
- Challenge your child to "put Humpty together again."
- Place pieces in an envelope for storage.
