Block Shape Treasure Hunt

Need a break? Help your child learn about shapes and develop thinking skills by playing this fun game!

You'll need:

• a set of shape blocks

What to do:

1. Invite your child to pick out a block and name the shape.
2. Encourage him to go on a treasure hunt around the room to find something that is the same shape as the block he chose. (Make sure there is something in the room that can be matched to the shape).
3. Challenge him to name the object he finds.

• Name a shape and then say, "Let's see how many examples of the shape we can find in this room." Name a shape on my clothing. Name a shape on your clothing.
• Name a shape that has straight sides. Name a shape with curved sides.
