What to do:
- Sit on the floor with your child with a bag full of hearts.
- Invite her to pull the hearts from the bag one by one. Pass them back and forth to each other as you sing this simple song. (Tune: "Skip To My Lou"):
Valentine, Valentine, Red, white and blue. I'll pick a pretty one And give it to you. Valentine, Valentine Pink, yellow and blue. I'll pick a pretty one 'Cause I Love You!
- Talk about sharing love with family and friends. Mention that one way people share love is by giving valentine hearts to each other.
- Let your child use the hearts along with doilies, foil, ribbon, and other decorations to make valentines for friends and family.
