Dino in the Dell

[15 Minutes]

Encourage your child to learn the names of favorite dinosaurs with this simple song.

You'll need:

• Toy dinosaurs (optional) • a book about dinosaurs

What to do:

  1. Teach your child the following song, (Tune: "The Farmer in the Dell"):
Oh, here comes Apatosaurus (or Brontosaurus)
    (Repeat)
    He's called the thunder lizard,
    Oh, here comes Apatosaurus.
  2. Let your child choose other dinosaurs to sing about.
  3. Help him fill in the nicknames or descriptive words about each one.
  4. If your child has toy dinosaurs, encourage him to pick up a toy and move it to the music as he sings.

Let's Talk: Ideas to Explore Together.

  • What dinosaurs did we sing about today?
  • Which one is your favorite? Why?
