Starfish Sand Art

You'll need:
cardboard or manila file folders sand dry tempera paint glue
What to do:
- Show your child pictures of starfish. Read about these interesting sea creatures together.
- Invite your child to draw several large starfish shapes on the cardboard and cut them out.
- Let her spread glue on each cardboard starfish.
- Encourage her to sprinkle dry tempera paint into the sand to make colored sand.
- Challenge her to sprinkle the starfish with the colored sand in designs or patterns.
